  • ProJect X8 Evolution Turntable  - Satin Walnut, Gloss White or Gloss Black
  • BONUS - ProJect Tube Box S2 Phono Pre-amplifier Silver
  • BONUS - Ortofon Quintet Black S Moving Coil Cartridge

The ProJect X8 Evolution takes a number of design cues from ProJect's high-end Xtension ( and Xtension 10 models and presents them at a more affordable price point.

Utilising ProJects "True Balanced Connection" the X8 is an outstanding entry into ProJects comprehensive line of state of the art turntables.

Mass-loaded platter

5.1kg heavy

The X8 offers a heavy, TPE damped mass-loaded platter which is lathed from a single aluminium block. Meanwhile underneath the platter, a neodymium magnet offers opposing force to decrease the load on the ceramic-tipped bearing, ensuring outstandingly consistent playback of your favourite LPs.

Inverted bearing

Stainless Steel Spindle

The inverted platter bearing is supported by a neodymium magnet that decreases the load on the ceramic tipped bearing.

Mass-loaded Chassis

Carbon tonearm

The X8 inherited the massive MDF chassis and the top-of-the-line Pro-Ject 9cc EVO carbon tonearm from its larger siblings.

Metal Feet

Damped & height adjustable

The three height adjustable damped aluminium feet guarantee the perfect stand & massively reduce risk of acoustical feedback.

33/45 RPM

Precision controlled

Switch speeds at the push of a button and enjoy stable and accurate speeds due to the built in electronic speed control.

True Balanced

Unleash the full power

The X8 is ready for our new True Balanced Connection. Single-ended RCA connections, quite literally, only use half of your cartridge's output. With one of our new True Balanced phono cables wired to a Phono Box S3 B, Phono Box DS3 B, Phono Box RS or RS2 you'll be able to hear your MC cartridge in its entirety!

Handmade in EU

Since 1991

Made in Europe by a turntable factory with decades of experience. Expert craftsmanship dwells deep within the X8.

ProJect Tube Box S2 Phono Pre-amplifier in Silver

Tube Box S2 is ProJect Audios very first product to feature a fully discreet circuit design without using any operational amplifiers (OpAmps). It also is the first product to come with replaceable tubes for tube rolling and sound-shaping.

This gives the vinyl listener many options to pick from and alter the sound signature to their preference. Tube Box S2 will give a full and relaxed laid back sound with lush mids, just like you would expect it from a much bigger high end tube phono pre-amplifier. It offers support for both MM and MC cartridges and comes with many gain settings to be switched on the front panel.

Five variable input impedance settings are available to adjust to any MM cartridge, the 47k ohms input impedance setting is fixed and suited for high output MC cartridges. The aluminium/metal casing is adapted to their DS2 line in looks and protects against vibrations and electromagnetic interferences for superior sound.

The ProJect Tube Box S2 is a precision audio component where the internal architecture is totally double mono, which makes it possible to obtain a more precise stereo reproduction and soundstage. The RIAA correction is made around a double circuit. One part is active and the other is totally passive.“Fet” transistors dedicated to the input circuit have been chosen for their weak noise and absence of distortion.

All the condensers are out of Styroflex technology. No chemical capacitance was used on the audio signal path.

The ProJect Tube Box S2 phono preamplifier is powered by an external power supply which supplies a direct current of 18 V. There is no need of a rectifying circuit or filter circuit. However, several voltages are internally treated which are regulated for the different parts of the circuit.

Like its predecessor, the Tube Box S, there is a good timbre quality and definition. But the global transparency as well as the precision of the soundstage have been largely improved. This phono preamp demonstrates authority with a lot of nuances and finesse when it is necessary.

There is no frustration nor any aggressiveness without any limits in the high spectrum. In terms of timber and harmony, the tubes perfectly play their parts without adding any coloration as this is often the case on this type of device.

A true high end solution in a much smaller package!

Suitable for MM and MC cartridges

BONUS

Ortofon Quintet Black Phono Cartridge

The Quintet Black is the best example of Quintet’s overall excellence.

The Quintet Black is graced with a Nude Shibata diamond, considered one of the best stylus profiles available, mounted on a high-performance Boron cantilever.

The Shibata’s slim, highly polished profile allows an exceedingly wide contact area to the walls of the groove and ensures detailed and pure reproduction throughout the spectrum, including even the most high frequency groove information.

The Quintet Black will be unfettered by musical genre and will give the closest approach within the Quintet series to Ortofon’s true accuracy in sound.
