Description
X2 B Turntable with Ortofon Quintet Red MC Cartridge
One of the first turntables to utilise ProJect's True Balanced connection!
The X2 B utilises ProJect's True Balanced connection to deliver music that's defined by incredible clarity and free of noise and distortion. When mounted with a moving coil cartridge and equipped with a 5-pin mini XLR cable, and connected to a ProJect 'True Balanced' phono stage, the X2 B serves up thrillingly pure and precise analogue audio.
Balanced Signals
Balanced audio connections are widely recognised in professional settings, such as recording studios and live concerts, due to their crucial role in providing stable and interference-free signals for heavily amplified signals. Similarly, when connecting your turntable to the phono preamplifier, it is essential to maintain a noiseless connection. One of the significant benefits of balanced connections is their ability to eliminate noise and interference picked up during signal transmission. Moreover, cartridges are naturally balanced signal transducers, making the True Balanced approach particularly advantageous since it utilises the full potential of the cartridge's signal. In contrast, traditional single-ended RCA phono connections discard half of the signal.
X2 B - A True Balanced Turntable
The X2 B features both mini XRL and RCA outputs and includes our standard semi-balanced Connect it Phono E RCA cable. For a complete True Balanced setup, we offer a fully balanced mini XLR to mini XLR version (sold separately), combined with a balanced phono stage such as our Phono Box S3 B or DS3 B. This setup offers increased dynamics, reduced noise, and improved signal-to-noise ratios, effectively allowing you to hear elements of your music that were previously inaudible.
High End Features That Aspire to Perfect Analogue Sound
- Azimuth and VTA adjustment - The X2 B comes with fully adjustable Azimuth & VTA.
- Quintet Red Moving Coil Cartridge - The Ortofon Quintet Red is an all-purpose cartridge that delivers open, dynamic sound with a slight touch of warmth & is the perfect partner for the X2 B.
- 2kg Acrylic Platter - The perfect platform for your vinyl, solidifying low end and ensuring totally accurate sound reproduction.
- Speed Control at the Press of a Button
New Motor Suspension
On its own, a high-quality motor is relatively low-noise. However, to maximise its potential, ProJect engineers have enhanced the motor's suspension. With the X2 B, the motor chassis is precisely balanced and suspended using a TPE belt that has been fine-tuned for optimal performance. By decoupling the motor chassis from the main plinth, ProJect has achieved exceptional performance levels.
