Tidal Is In The News - Big Time!

Tidal,the streaming service bought by Jay Z back in 2015,is reportedly in talks with Apple over a possible acquisition.Tidal currently the primo streaming service with a minimum of CD quality streams and plans to go further.It would seem that they have got Apple's attention,considering the fact that whilst Apple's non-lossless streaming service is doing OK,their i-Tunes download figures are disastrous and could be over by 2020.........yes!......2020.Apple and Tidal are said to be at an early stage with Tidal's strong ties with the key artists reported a key factor for Apple Music.Mogul Jay Z bought Tidal's parent company back in 2015 and has since grown the streaming service to more than 4 million subscribers.Apple's CEO has said in mid September that they will not be buying Tidal.

It would seem that more than one streaming service,considering the demise of i-Tunes ....is not enough for Apple....

And there is even more news....and this is possibly as big as it gets...Tidal aims to deliver Hi-Res streams using MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) technology.....and at no higher cost than the existing CD quality HiFi tier.Pal Bratelund,Tidal's strategic partnership manager,told What HiFi magazine that plans to start streaming Hi-Res files in 2016 were well under way....exciting!
