It would seem that the explosion that was pop and rock music in the mid to late 1960's has handed us a spate of 50th Anniversaries.Important iconic artists are either celebrating a classic album release or the release of their debut album or single.

In the case of Pink Floyd it is 50 years since the release of their debut single "Arnold Layne".London's Victoria and Albert Museum has announced a major retrospective of the legendary British band.The show will include 350 artefacts that celebrate the band's influential composition,staging,design,film,music technology and photography.Visitors will experience unseen concert footage and a laser light show.

The Beach Boys also celebrate the release of one of the most famous pop songs of all time,Good Vibrations.To commemorate this there is a 12" sunburst colour vinyl single.Featuring the original 1966 US cover art,it also comes with a pull out lithograph of it's Japanese cover art.the Beach Boys have already released a "Pet Sounds" anniversary reissue,as well as a long-awaited Mike Love autobiography.

We have already published a blog about The Beatles' Revolvers' 50th Anniversary this year.With the acceleration from this point on in the 1960's there is sure to be an ongoing string of 50th Anniversary celebrations for the music industry.
