Sonos And Bluesound - The Wireless World Of Sound
The convenience of the wireless world is upon us with offerings of great sound and the ease of functionality that allows us to enjoy our music in all parts of our home. With the amount of streaming services, internet radioand the ability to play your music library or records to any place in your home,we have truly entered the 21st century with technology that supports the multi-room sound solution.
The App on your phone or tablet is the key driver of this technology. It provides the volume control and music selection from various sources that allows you to choose your favourite music or adventure into new realms of listening.
Another key element of the wireless wifi world is the in any room or every room at once concept.Play a different song in the living room ,bedroom, even bathroom or the same track in all rooms. With a choice of streaming services that span from Spotify,Pandora,Apple to the high resolution of Deezer and Tidal we are truly spoilt for choice. And with thousands of internet radio stations via services such as Tune-in it would seem that it is all connected.
Sonos,a company founded in 2002,brought the world of wireless wifi speakers and connection in an affordabale way to music listeners. They also provide a home entertainment solution with the sound bar and subwoofer combination. They also provide the opportunity to incorporate your current hifi system into the wireless world via the Connect unit which works both ways.It allows you to play the wifi content through your hifi system or play your hifi system through the wifi network, allowing you to play your records or CDs to other speakers throughout your home.
Bluesound offers similar options but does it in high resolution with minimal CD quality playback and has a range of wireless speakers and connectivity to your hifi via the Node 2 or Vault which also allows you to rip your CD's onto a 2 TB hard drive to create a music library.Add to this that Bluesound is licensed to MQA ( Master Quality Authentication) .MQA is a new technology that not only takes digital closer to an analogue sound but allows the compression of a high resolution file that is sent in a file size that is less thana CD file size that is uncompressed at the other end into a lossless high resolution file.Having heard MQA files we are very impressed with smoother analogue type sound and a more defined bass line.
Above all,it is exciting that the wireless wifi world has arrived and allows music to be heard in all parts of your home.It creates great adventure and a greatspce that makes us feel good.
