Mobile Fidelity Turntables - From The Master of Vinyl Recording
Those who were around for vinyl's heyday of the 1970's and 1980's may have had the experience of hearing an audiophile quality half speed mastered Mobile Fidelity pressing that truly brought to life artist's works at a level not previously experienced.Mobile Fidelity has been the undisputed pioneer and leader in audiophile recordings since the company's inception in I977. Mobile Fidelity's founder Brad Miller was a producer and recording engineer who had two driving passions - sound and quality.
As part of the company's resolve to provide the most accurate sonic reproduction possible, all Mobile Fidelity product is mastered directly from the original master tape as opposed to the production copies often used for mass reproduction. In the case of the original master recording the use of the master tape is combined with a unique procedure known as half speed mastering which literally slows down the cutting system involved in mastering vinyl so that musical information can be transferred from the source tape to the lacquer with greater precision.
Drawing on 5 decades of making the world's best sounding records,Mobile Fidelity has designed a range of turntables, cartridges and phono preamplifiers that continue the Mobile Fidelity tradition of getting you closer to what the original artist intended.Mobile Fidelity have 2 models of turntables in their range being the Ultradeck and the Studiodeck.Designed in collaboration with one of the world's foremost turntable and tonearm designers,Allen Perkins of Spiral Groove, they provide uncompromising playback of your vinyl collection.famous for his own designs such as the Spiral Groove Revolution turntable which sells for I8,000 US Dollars,he helped Mobile Fidelity to achieve the sonic excellence in their turntable range.
Their turntables feature some unique materials and design principles. Both models come with a Delrin platter whose highly crystalline structure presents a wonderful impedance match to vinyl records, effectively grounding unwanted noise and keeping it away from the stylus. The tonearms are custom developed and manufactured in the USA with the Ultradeck coming with Cardas wiring for ultimate signal purity. Both also feature an isolated synchronous motor with advanced dampening materials that decouple the motor from the rest of the turntable.Anti vibration feet by Harmonic Resolution Systems ensure maximum isolation from bad vibrations. The steel and teflon inverted bearing is designed for quiet rotational stability.
They also produce 2 cartridge models again in collaboration with Allen Perkins they are built in Japan. They follow the same layout as the cutting head responsible for making grooves on vinyl LPs.Mobile Fidelity has also developed phono stages thanks to revered engineer Tim De Paravincini who has also consulted for other famous brands such as Luxman and Quad. They are made in the USA and replicate the wide bandwidth transparency Mobile Fidelity mastering engineers demand.Tim is the designer responsible for the Mobile Fidelity Gain 2 Ultra analogue cutting system. He assisted with the internal circuitry to ensure your analogue system at home faithfully reproduces the music buried in the grooves of your LPs.
