Nearing their 40th anniversary, French loudspeaker and driver manufacturers Focal are perhaps more deserving of consideration as the advance guard of loudspeaker development than any other company in existence. The use of a tweeter, midrange, and twin woofers along with the ample cabinet space enables the Sopra No.2 speakers to represent a complete span of frequencies with ease. Their soundstage is clear and distinct, and – importantly – the Sopras manage to provide a detailed playback without ever reaching ‘brightness’.
