Bluesound And MQA - The Future Of Digital Audio

Bluesound, the manufacturer of high quality streaming devices, designed by the same engineers that designed NAD amplifiers, recently announced that it is now in partnership with MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) to offer studio quality sound exactly as the artist intended.Using pioneering scientific research into how people hear,MQA technology captures the full magic of the original studio performance.MQA is a revolutionary end-to-end technology that delivers master quality audio in a file that's small enough to stream or download and because it's fully authenticated, listeners can be sure they are hearing exactly what the artist recorded and approved in the studio.MQA is the first technology to capture this critical timing information - to transport the listener to the original performance.

MQA has already entered into an agreement with Warner Music to have their extensive catalogue encoded into MQA files. The file size is actually slightly smaller than a CD file as this technology allows for compression of the original file and expansion at the user end by a MQA licensed device. All Bluesound devices, even previous releases, can be upgraded via a firmware update of the Bluesound App.

Having heard in person a comparison of a high resolution track against a MQA file at the recent Melbourne International HiFi Show,we noticed some distinct differences in the quality of the performance. The differences heard included a more distinct and defined bass line and a smoother analogue style sound that made for a more enjoyable listening experience. And that was MQA against a high resolution version.......imagine the difference against a standard version!MQA could potentially be one of the most exciting advances in audio reproduction ever.Bluesound is fortunate to be one of the few licensed partners.
